About Plan For Oregon
In 2008 Sean VanGordon ran for State Representative in District 12 (Springfield, OR). Although he did not win the race for the house seat, his experience on the campaign trail led him to begin this blog on local politics.
“As I introduced myself to my neighbors, I shared my ideas about everything from health care to education. But more importantly, people shared their ideas with me. The people that I talked to were concerned about how the state was run, wanted to be more informed, and didn’t know how to be more involved.
I have decided to turn my campaign site into a blog to address those issues. My goals for this blog are:
- Comment on the current affairs of the state
- Pass on ideas that were shared with me on the campaign
- Discuss the problems of the state, and how we can use planning to solve them without growing government.
Oregonians need to be more involved in state government. We need to have more detailed discussions to solve the state’s problems, and not stop with political buzzwords.
Please let me know if you have questions, and please sign up so that you can comment.”
